You may already know this, but when I was shopping CVS yesterday I found that they also had the Gluten free Progresso.

how funny you say that. i have to eat a gluten free diet and my son bought some soup the other day and pointed that out to me.
a lot of foods have always been gluten free and are just now putting labels on stating so. i'm okay if i eat a little bit once in a while but it really messes with my body. if i want something really bad i have supplements i can take ahead of time to help.
the gluten free pasta is good, no one can tell the difference when i cook it. it's not that expensive either.
Tiggy, I also follow a Gluten Free diet too! I ate Progresso soup & Chex cereal long before it was labeled. I don't have celiac disease, but an inflammatory allergy so I know it won't make me sick if there are traces of wheat. I'm glad to see more & more products are being labeled though. It's amazing where they hide wheat! So many products have it as filler!
it's in almost everything!!! the one thing i miss the most is pizza. i have not found a good substitute. sometimes i'll eat it anyway and regret it right away. but it's just so good. lol. the breads are so expensive and they taste horrible. but i have gotten really great at making most flour based foods with the substitutes. even biscuits and gravy!!!!
I used Pamela's baking mix for pretty much everything! it makes the best pancakes in the world (I served them to my family who thinks I'm on this weird diet!) and they had no clue! I use their bread mix to make bread & pizza dough. We are lucky here in Buffalo that there is a local bakery that makes the best GF breads. Their rye bread is just as good as regular rye bread and I can make a sandwich and not feel like I'm missing anything. The frozen breads in the grocery stores are awful. I can't get past the grainy rice flour texture. I wish we had a trader joe's here! Their brown rice pasta is so inexpensive and so good! I also find a lot of GF products at CHristmas Tree store. I just have to watch the expiry dates.
my son, who is the only official GF one in the house right now, likes udi's and rudi's breads and loves udi's pizza crust. i haven't seen rudi's, but it's supposed to be coming soon!

sprouts farmers market opened up not to far away and i get rice there. it's very inexpensive. i love their bulk section!!! so many things i can get for around $1 i would pay $5 or $6 for at the grocery stores. every time i'm over that way i stop in and buy steel cut oats, beans and rice, corn meal and different types of flour. it's great.
