    Default CVS - separate transactions??

Hey. I am new to the drugstore scene, and have seen examples on youtube of women going in and doing separate transactions at CVS, like if they get extra bucks from the 1st transaction, they use those EB on the next transaction..does your store allow you to do this? I am afraid of holding up the line as well...just curious if anyone does the separate transactions and what your experience is in doing so? thanks!

I don't do it at CVS very often unless my OOP is going to be alot. They call it "rolling ecbs or RR". I do it at Wags every week. When I do, I try to keep it at under 3 transactions but if they are busy I will step back and let others go ahead of me. At Wags I always try to use the beauty counter checkout. They seem to be more patient and helpful. Sunday I ended up with 5 transactions because I forgot about the shaving cream and then they brought out some scrubbing bubbles one step cleaners from the back. At CVS you don't have to worry about what you are using your ebs on so it is easier.

I have only done that at CVS once and I actually went outside put my stuff in the car and came back in to do the second one. I wouldn't ever do it with other people waiting in line behind me. At the very least I would do my 1st one and then go to the back of the line to do my second one.

Since my CVS has a self check-out, it is easy to do.
But I have seen people going to regular cashiers to do more than one transaction and I have never seen them give the customers a problem.

I am a cvs cashier and doing multiple transactions are really no problem. I think it's polite to try to avoid doing several complicated transactions when the store is most busy/there are lots of people in line behind you. And, I also think it's polite to try to be as put together as you can with them-know where your money is (or whatever your method of payment), know where your coupons are, etc. But I am not graded by how many people I ring up at once or how fast I get the customer away from the counter, so, whether I ring up one customer five times, or five customers one time each, it's no different to me.

Also, even aside from rolling ECBs, multiple transactions is pretty common for other reasons, like ringing up some items with an FSA card and others with a regular card, or buying things for different people and needing to use different forms of payment (we can do multiple forms of payment in one transaction, but many people find it easier to just do it separately anyway.

Sometimes you also need to do separate transactions if you have rebates to send in or if you are buying items for personal use vs. for work (so you can get reimbursed).

I do separate transactions at CVS all the time. I have never had a problem but if there are people behind me I will let them up before I do the next one. It gets complicated when I have my grandbaby with me but otherwise it is really easy at CVS.

I am a newbie too. I recently returned a purchase to CVS in order to re-purchase, breaking down into multiple transactions, in order to maximize savings. The store was empty and I told the cashier exactly what I was doing and why. I was nervous but found the cashier to be very pleasant. I really think it helped to let her know in advance what I was doing. I agree with other people here that allowing other customers to go ahead is the right thing to do if there is a line and you will be taking a while to complete your transactions. I know I would. It is simple common courtesy.

Heading out now to CVS. I have three transactions. I will look for the cashier who served me last time. I am a candle maker and have candles for her as a token of my appreciation for all her help.

    Rock on with your savings!
