Cool Rollover ECB Question.

Hello everyone.
I'm a Rookie Coupon Player...My question is: can ECB's rollover?

Scenario: Last week I purchased the Oral-B Pulsonic Electric Toothbrush and earned 20 ECBs (Original Price: $79 . CVS Sale: $59 . Earn 20 ECB).

Yesterday, I purchased $8.34 worth of items and handed the cashier my ECBs that I earned last week. The cashier told me I couldn't use my 20 ECBs for an $8 purchase, her reasoning was that I would loose the difference and they dont rollover or work like that. Is she correct? I ended up paying out of pocket - which defeats the purpose of my shopping and visit to CVS.

Someone please help me understand if this is true.

Many thanks.

I haven't started shopping at CVS yet, but from all of the posts you cannot get money back if they are higher than your purchase amount. So no you can't roll them over. Also from what I have been reading, you cannot use them on the same type or brand of purchase. Meaning if you make one on proctor and gamble products you cannot use it to by the same deal or other proctor and gamble products.

Trust me those who do these deals will add more information.

The cashier was correct, they can't give you change back on your ECB.

Most of the time your ECB will be in smaller $ amounts so you'll be able to use them for those smaller purchases. Also note, you get separate ECB when you purchase several things. So for example, say you bought a bag of the candy corn they had for free after ECB earlier this week, that was $1.29. And in that same purchase, you also get the GUM tb that were $3.99. You will get one ECB for each item, so in this example, you would get one for $1.29 and another for $3.99. These smaller $ ECB are easier to use, but you can also combine several of them on a purchase.

So, just hold on to your $20 ECB and use it when you're making a larger purchase, cuz you don't wanna lose any of that

OMG...my heart dropped when I read this. But luckily I read it wrong.
Whew....I thought the cashier let you use it anyway.

That $20 will come in handy one day.

To piggyback on clippinMom said, when buying deals like the GUM toothbrushes, you can make seperate transactions so that the ECBs you receive back will always be low. In other words, if you make two transactions you will receive 3.99 ECBs back each time instead of $7.98 on one ECB. It helps when making smaller purchases.

Good Luck. Soon you will Love CVS and all of it fabulousity!!!!!

I use my "big ECBs" for baby items when they are on sale...you can get a lot of diapers and formula for $20 combining your coupons and ECBs!

...same goes for over the counter medicine...

Yes, she was trying to help you. Myself, I would have NO trouble spending $20. Look at sale add, gather your coupons and try again. After she totals at least $20,hand the $20 coupon to her, if you bought more then $20 you will save the amount of any other coupons and may end up w/a FREE shopping trip. I know it is hard at first, untill you start to think this way.
Detergent,TP,kleenix, sant. supplies, shampoo,TP ect. not to mention Xmas is coming. You will be surprissed how FAST it comes up to $20.
Hope this help. Hang in there!!
