Someone on the Wags forum asked about a list of acronyms for Walgreens. Since we have so many newbies to the coupon world who are trying to save money at CVS, should we list the acronyms we commonly use on this forum?
I was a veteran CVS shopper using ECB's when I found this forum, but I had a hard time following the lingo for the first month or so. ECB = Extra Care Buck MM = Money Maker Q = Coupon MFQ = Manufacturer Coupon IP = Internet Printed coupon 3/15 = Typically a CVS coupon that is good for $3 off a $15 purchase 4/20 = CVS coupon that is good for $4 off a $20 purchase 5/25 = CVS coupon that is good for $5 off a $25 purchase CSO = Coupon Spitter Outer. Really, that is what it stands for. This is the price scanner, usually located near the front of the store that lets customers check prices on items. Scan your ECB card on each visit, and it often spits out CVS coupons, like $4/20's. Peelie = This is a coupon that is already attached to the product that the consumer can remove by peeling and use at the cash register. RIB = ReInventing Beauty magazine. This magazine is sold at CVS and sometimes is LOADED with coupons. Roll or Rolling = This is an excercise that allows you to use old ECB's, and when you buy certain products, new ECB's are generated with the same amount you spent, or higher, with virtually little or no OOP. OOP = Out Of Pocket, or the amount of cash you had to spend. TP = Tear pad = This is a pad of MFQ's generally located in a store to encourage you to buy a product. B1G1 = Buy One, Get One Free BOGO = Buy One, Get One Free GE = Gold Emblem. This is a CVS private label store brand. YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary, or in other words, your savings or experience may be different I am sure I am forgetting some of the acronyms. If you are new to CVS couponing and the ECB program, feel free to ask if you don't know the acronyms. LOTS of old pro's hang out here and can help you out with the lingo. HTH = Hope This Helps!!!!!! Check out the first thread in this section, "Philosophy behind ECB's at CVS." That should answer most of your questions.
