yesterday 24Aug09 went to a 24 hr CVS about 4 miles from my place. Planned to use 5/25 Q but store was out of lot of stuff so finally dwcided to just take whatever they had. On checkout I had 4 IPs of Poise. Well the CS only wanted to use one Q as the Q said 1 per purchase. Well that was new, so I bought only one. I was glad that I had not wasted any time to bring total close to 25 keeping the poise in mind.

I've been running into this issue a lot lately! My only argument is that it says "per PURCHASE" and I am purchasing X amount of the same item. Now if it said "per purchase per transaction" then I wouldn't fight it.
I'm just making sense of what the coupon says. Is that wrong?

Purchase (noun): something that is purchased or bought.
Transaction (noun): an instance or process of transacting something. I always consider a purchase to mean "per item" and a transaction to mean "per instance." However, I do run into cashiers who consider a purchase to be the same thing as a transaction. I just had one at Target on Saturday that would only let me use one Bic Stationery MQ. I made her split the transaction, but sometimes (like when trying to use a $x/$xx coupon), that's not really feasible. |

I am almost thinking that each and every store should post their rules inside the store. How are we to know? The coupons and deals are out there, if they want us to use them then they need to let us know what each store will accept. The couponeer should not have to worry and fret if we are doing what they expect from us. Just my thoughts.

At the first store, I bought two and only one IP Q "would take" the system kept beeping. ( I used an $2IP and a MQR from RBM)
Secong store, bought two and two $2IPs w/NO problems.
