Default their raising the price of my sunday paper to $3

between that and the lack of good coupons for stuff i'd actually use.... idk if I will be doing this as much. oh I will still check the deals each week but looks like it's getting slimmer on the deals around here.

Can you get it delivered for less? My Los Angeles Times sometimes has special deals for Sunday-only home delivery. I took advantage of the 1 year for $20......works out to be less than 50 cents each Sunday. I have one delivered to me and one to a neighbor that loves reading. She reads it and gives me the coupons.
I also go to Starbucks and the car wash on Sunday afternoons to check out the recycle baskets for people that read parts of the paper and leave the coupon inserts and store ads behind.

My Sunday paper would cost me more per week if I had it delivered. They use the extra funds for the carrier to deliver it... instead of a tip for the carrier.

YEP.....ours here in Florida just went to $3 an issue too (wonder about the ones in CT).......I was going to get a couple last week anyway, but couldn't find one with any coupons in it and my neighbor gave me an extra one from her route so I just didn't bother. With the upcoming move and the restrictions on what the moves will back....errrrrrr.........anyone want to come for a huge picnic? I will be able to bless a few of the people I'm friendly with here at least. So I just may be skipping the papers for the next couple of weeks.

One thing I will miss is the opportunity to "get the Sunday paper" all week. The stores carry them until they run out or the next Sunday whichever comes first. No rushing around for me on Sundays just for that purpose.

Wow that is terrible! Ours is $1.75 and does not carry the RP, and if it is a good week I make DH drive 25 miles each way for the $0.75 papers Saturday.
I have gotten lucky and been able to quickly flip through papers and see if a few have more than 1 copy of an insert and lucked out that way.

I am really sorry to hear that! That is just outrageous! I was paying 1.75 for my paper until i befriended our delivery girl. Now every Sunday at 3:30am she drops a bundle of newspapers on my back porch. So i get 30-40 papers free. That's why i end up having to throw out my q's at the end of every month because i can't get rid of them.
This week is going to be the Pepsi co insert and i know i will end up having at least 40 of those inserts that i wont use.I wish you lived near by because i would give you have the papers i get!!!

Ours went from $1.50 to $1.75, but I don't have them delivered I just get them from the gas station in town. I should find out who delivers them around here, see if I know them maybe they would give me any leftovers or something?? Worth a shot!

I agree that at times it's just not worth paying for the paper when there's only one insert or if I look through the preview and not really see a lot, I will skip it that week. It's frustrating. I have thought about buying the inserts online ;P
