Default I could use some advice on getting coupons for sales in a timely manner.

Here is my problem. I find a sale or bargain, then go looking for extra coupons so I can buy more than the 5 or 6 that I already have coupons for, the problem is the sale expires or the clearance items are gone by the time I can get the coupons. What is your strategy for getting coupons when you find things on sale or clearance? Do you just keep a supply on hand and hope you can use them before they expire? I just don't want to pay for coupons I may not use, seems like a waste. Or have you kept track of when things go on sale, so you know when to stock up on coupons?

I lucked out last week and asked a friend who doesn't color her hair for her Hair dye coupons and scored on the CVS clearance sale.

I'd love to hear what strategy others use.
    Thanks

With experience you will learn which coupons tend to get you free items. I knew the Brawny $0.50/1, John Frieda $5/1, and Starkist $0.50/1 would make free/really cheap products eventually so I tried to get 40+ of each as soon as they came out.

I agree. I did the same with Propel coupons this summer. I had 100 of those babies before I even saw a sale. Plus the prices (of the coupons) are cheaper before a sale comes around and everyone wants them. Although if no sale comes around you may get stuck with them.

    IndianaMom and Bear,
Do you buy your extra coupons from ebay or clipping services? or do you trade with others to get them?

I have not used a clipping service. I either trade or get them off Ebay.
