Default Going to a workshop with a "coupon queen"

My library is having a workshop next week with a "coupon queen" . The class is an hour and a half, and she will apparently be sharing tips and tricks. I have not heard of her, but I think she is from this area. I am sure I will not learn anything I do not already know, but if nothing else, maybe I will find some local people to have clipping parties with,

A clipping party is where a group gets together, combines all their Sunday inserts and IPs, clips and share everything. Makes for some nice trades.

Well, last night was the seminar. It was----interesting. I did not really learn anything I did not know, but I think it was OK for someone rather new to couponing. The only real drawback I saw was she should have allowed 2 hours rather than an hour and a half for the presentation, as I feel she did not take into account allowing for questions from the audience. It ended up going overtime..and there was not really a lot of time at the end to interact with her or other participants, as by the time she was done, the library was closing in about 10 minutes, and everyone had to pretty much rush out of there.
One thing I did not understand was her explaination of using some of Rite Aid's Up rewards...and the accruing points thing. She said something about getting %'s off regularly..and can get her paper for a % off every Sunday. But I do know that she spends a lot more there than I normally do..as she buys a lot of children products and makeup. So I will have to look into the program and try to figure out what she was talking about.

Be sure to sign up for the Wellness+ Card from Rite Aid. Each time you shop, give them your card. You will notice in the weekly ad that many items have a +Up Rewards symbol next to them to get that special price. Your purchases are linked to this card and they accumulate each time you shop. When you get to certain dollar amounts, you can get a percentage off every time you shop there. http://www5.riteaid.com/wellness
The info is all available on Rite Aid Pharmacy - With Us, It's Personal.
Be sure to also check their website for the Single Check Rebates (where they send you a check for buying certain items), Video Values (with coupons for watching short videos) and the Rite Aid threads on this site.
You can also use mfr. coupons along with the in-ad coupons from the weekly Rite Aid ads to save even more.....and you can use store/mfr. coupons on the items from the Single Check Rebates as well.

Remember her class was intended for people new to couponing, not pro's looking for tips on how to up their game =D Librarys are tricky places to hold coupon seminars. At my library they have so many programs running, and they plan out my time 1-2 months in advance. My current classes are a far cry from what I did in the beginning. Its just information overload for new couponers! Now I break it out into 3 sessions. Anyways I am glad you were able to attend, and I hope you had fun in spite of the rush!

Debbi..and for people new to couponing, I feel it was good.
Curtis, I have the wellness card from Rite Aid..just not sure how she gets a discount on her Sunday paper every week. It seems she was using a % rather than the Up Rewards. She said she pays $1.60 every week..the paper normally costs $2.
I am glad, though O had a chance to look at how she had her binder set up. A lot better to understand than just seeing pictures of one.
