    Default Tricky to file Q's

Sometimes coupons come out and you wonder what category to file it in if you clip them all, like I do. I thought this thread could be helpful to many of us... I know that the file system is personal, but if I know where other people are putting them and why they do it, it'll help me remember where I put them.

So, I'd like this to be a back and forth thread...

I'll start ~ Hunts snack pack pudding and Jello refrigerated pudding. What category do you put this in? Do you file them together? You find one in the refrigerated section and the other in baking...

another is Nestle syrup. Baking? by the ice cream? sauces?

    Good idea to start this.

First one I would put under snacks which covers various things.

Second one I would put under condiments because it's a topping.

I don't clip everything but that is where I would put them. I know many of the gang have more specific categories than I do.

I clip and file everything in my binder.

I have the snack pack under baking, the refrig. jello is filed under refrigerated items and the nestle syrup would file under condiments.

I have everything in my binder filed by aisles and then broken down into sub-categories. It's a lot easier for me to remember where certain coupons are! lol

Great Thread! I"m looking forward to seeing the responses.

I put Hunt's snack packs in with baking supplies b/c they are in that aisle. The Jello pudding cups are in with Deli Meats b/c they are next to them. Nestle syrup goes in the frozen desserts category so I remember I have them when I buy ice cream.

My dilemma is: glucose monitors. My Health categories are Pain Relievers, Heartburn/Antacids, Vitamins, and Cold/Allergy Meds. Since those Qs don't come out very often, it doesn't make sense to have a separate category so I end up putting them right in the front of my file box.

I put both in the 'snacks' section. The only category I have that can be confusing is 'cans and dry goods'. It has both dole fruit cups and spaghetti sauce. Oh well. My categories are:

    baking
    beverages
    cans and dry goods
cereal (I also put breakfast aisle items and granola bars here)
    dairy/refrigerated
    frozen foods
    marinades, dressings, sauces
    meat/produce
    snacks
    soups
    yogurts
    retail/restaraunt

    I also have a non-food binder.

I have a blank page at the back of my binder in a Misc. Section and my glucose meters go in that page, along with the broom coupons and bra-strap q's...

Litsa, thanks for making this a sticky...

I have a dual-binder from Case-it so my food section looks like this...
bags/wraps; baking; beverage; boxed sides; boxed dinners; breads; BREAKFAST - cold, hot, bars/tarts; Candy, gum, chocolate; Chips, nuts, salty things; crackers and cookies; canned soups; canned meat/veggies; condiments; DAIRY-yogurt, butter/cheese, dips and creams; dressings; FROZEN-bread/breakfast, desserts, meals, pizza, sides, snacks, veggie; Fruit; MEAT-breakfast, lunch, dinner; REFRIGERATED-pillsbury, sides; Produce; Salsa & sauces; seasonings & marinades; Paper products tp/pt, tissue, plates/napkins.

    H&B side is broken down into 3 categories, Hygiene stuff, cleaning, and misc. Hygiene is Deoderant; Dove; eyecare; Facial Products; Fem Hygiene; Hair shamp/cond; Hair Dye; Loreal; Lotions; Make-up; Olay; Oral Care; Soaps; Shaving;

Cleaning is broken down into Scents; work q's, kitchen sink area; general cleaning; Laundry

Misc. is broken into Antacid; cold meds; pain reliever; vitamins/joint stuff; and a misc. in the misc. category holds batteries, light bulbs, packaging tape, meters, etc...

I can be a little OCD with my filing, but when I'm in the store, I want to be able to flip to the section and get my q, I don't want to do any actual searching in the store. The only section that has more than 2 bb pages is baking and I'm considering breaking that down.

My categories are: Frozen/Refrigerated, Health & Beauty, Pantry, Snacks, Paper/Household Goods, Bread & Cereal.

I put pudding either in snacks or refrigerated, depending on the type. My glucose monitors go in with Health. I don't have subcategories because I just use a simple 3 ring binder with 6 divider tabs and each section doesn't have more than 6 pages.
Can always use cheese, high fiber product, soup and razor Q's
