Default Know how you feel, but . . .

I feel like that too. School has started again for me so I'm back to 7-5 hours and all the stuff my children are involved in so couponing - cutting, organizing, planning - all seems to be just one more thing to do. I haven't been couponing since school started. But last week I went to Walmart and even though I spent almost $400 and NO, I am NOT kidding, I saved $30!! That doesn't seem like a lot I know. But I've decided I am never going to be as good as the rest. Granted I had not been BIG grocery shopping in awhile. We had survived mostly on surplus for months with the exception of the necessities. That's why I feel I have to get back into it. I have started getting certain coupons that I want and use often online. I do still by a paper. My mom and mother in law save them for me also. Give yourself a break and then you are going to find that you miss it. I did!!

yeah, i still get the paper, but the last 3 weeks or so i have just let the coupons sit there. we don't use probably 95% of the items in the circulars, & it seems silly to keep cutting them out & organizing them when i know darn well i'm not going to use them. i spend more money buying things for my beagles than i do for us!

probably the only things i will keep cutting coupons for are pet supplies, contact solution, feminine products...that's about it, really.

The last 2 weeks have not been good for me either with the selection of coupons in the inserts. But I hang in there knowing the following week may really be good. I'm hoping the coupons will get better closer to the holidays.

Yes I feel the same. I'm not getting anymore frozen pizza Qs since back to school is over. But the holidays do have mccormick spices, soups, canned vegetables, etc that I'm looking forward to. Last week was pretty pathetic though. And I don't think I clipped even one of those 'special p&g insert' coupons. Maybe if you just buy 1 or 2 papers you'll stop spending more than you save. Or preview the coming Qs in the database before you buy. That will help.

Well, I'm definitely not giving up...and maybe I'll try looking online more. i've just never dealt with IPs because I always had such issues with them when I tried. And I definitely use the pet Qs in the papers...and snacks for hubby. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling kinda bummed with the papers these days though...however, i will say a lot of the holiday coupons won't do me any good. All I'll be able to use is the canned veggies...no pies, treats, stuffing, things like that But I've lost 10.2 pounds, so it's worth it

P.S. I'm finding online that the best place to get coupons is SS...which is what's already in the newspaper. And the product websites I've been to that offer coupons took me to SS or Bricks....OH well.

I don't want to stop couponing but it is getting frustrating! I've recently changed the way I eat (not calling it a diet!!) and there will hardly ever be coupons for the things I'm allowed to eat. I give away probably 90% of the coupons in every paper..

Ok, I just needed to vent a little.
What are you allowed to eat? I get frustrated too... so many of the coupons are for high carb, high sugar junk.

What I tend to do is watch for Catalina sales on canned and frozen goods that offer an "on your next order" amount at the register... then I take those and buy the "things I can eat."

I certainly don't do as well as some of the ladies here... I tend to average about 60% savings that way. It's better than a poke in the eye, so I can't complain.

I also tend to hang on to my coupons until the last possible minute... That's when I see the best deals usually.

I agree that alot of coupons are for processed foods (ready to eat dinners, snacks, junk foods) I too wish there were more Qs for other foods like more mission tortilla Qs! or arnold bread Qs! I don't ever find meat Qs or produce Qs either, like store coupons. more juice Qs, stuff like that would be nice. I don't think I will ever eat a wanchai ferry or birdseye for 2 meal.

Curtis, some folks can only eat 'fresh' or non-processed foods with no preservatives or anything like that, so foods like Wanchai Ferry are off the menu.

Mrs. O ~ I'd still coupon, but maybe just for health and beauty items... Coz you KNOW how much you can save on that stuff
