Thank you.. I just started couponing a month ago, and find myself heading towards some of those traits... Good to be reminded of some of those points! Thanks again

I think I finally figured it out when I realized I didn't have to go to CVS every week - that some weeks it's just not worth it and I didn't need anything. Which is a great feeling!!

Completely agree. I find that I don't need to use every coupon I have for an item when it goes on sale, there will always be a next time.

that made for excellent reading. i can relate to alot of what you said. i have so many canned goods that my shelves are literally caving in the center. i feel like if i miss a sale that i didnt save anything which really is the total opposite. i'm so better off missing one now and then. whenever i call my mom in n.y. to tell her i feel like taking a walk with my little ones, she tells me not to take but a few dollars in case the girls want a little something while we're out. i agree, i think it really can become addictive. i've just recently been ok with saying, "wow, i'm really not seeing much that i need this week" i always say that i feel it's a blessing to be able to shop the way i do but you have to know when enough is enough. will i ever stop stocking the pantry cabinets in the garage, NO, but it will be with the things we use the most! happy shopping everyone

Thanks for sharing ladies... I'm still new to couponing and get excited for $1 toothpaste :-)
I can't wait for the day when my grocery bills are cut in half because we already have everything we need.

Extremely well written! I read it out loud to DH, and he thought I had written it. I completely relate to the "high" when walking out of the store. I also have the same high when I walk out of the shelters/food banks after donating.

I started couponing exactly 1 year ago too. Your right, I no longer feel that way either when I miss a sale. I also stopped hording. I hardly spend anymore since I have a nice stock pile that gets restocked as the sales for the items I USE are running out. I still have enough food to donate to a low income family. This is a great post. Thanks

The thing I didn't know when I first started clipping coupons is it isn't about using a coupon here and there...it's about maximizing your coupon when it will get the most for you (matching it with mealbox, target and in-ad coupons, waiting for the bogo sales, double and triple events). Also, partake in MIR...what a great money saver!!

And I couldn't have said it better about feeling panic if I didn't hit the sales. The first few weeks of my newborn's life I felt so overwhelmed not just about dealing with a newborn but because I'd read about all these great deals and didn't have the chance to partake. But, you do realize that it will come around again and your life will not end because you didn't get to CVS that week for some cheap or free toothpaste
