I'm torn about the Swiffer WetJet
I have some pretty good coupons for the Swiffer WetJet right now. I have $10 off at Kroger and $6 off at Target, plus the coupon for the free refill. Here's my dilema, I already use the Clorox one. We're buying a house with hardwood floors throughout. So, do I use the coupons that are burning a hole in my pocket, or keep the Clorox one and hope for coupons for the refills?

I have laminate floors and for years was using the Swiffer Wetjet....and never liked the job it did! The floors always seemed "sticky" and smeared and I would end up going back over areas with a mop anyway....
I saved up and ended up getting a Hoover Spin Scrub machine....I absolutely LOVE it for my laminate flooring (you can use it on sealed hardwood floors too)...you can vacuum the floors first, then turn around and put the water and cleaning solution in it and scrub your floors clean with very little effort.
yes it's big and not ideal for quick clean ups, but that minor inconvenience far outweighs having cleaner floors than what I was getting with the Swiffer Wetjet.
personally, I wouldn't get another one even if I would get it for free plus tax.

Is it a two story house?
When I have a two story (we alternate north/south the style of houses and we've moved 33 times) I like having duplicate supplies upstairs.
Also, there will always be another deal to come along if you decide not to use those cpns....

I used to use the Clorox one and now have the Wet jet. I like the build and functions on the Wet Jet better. I did not like the Clorox trigger and it seemed to leak a lot. I agree the Wet Jet solution seems to make things kind of sticky but I now just use my own solution in the bottle. Yes you can reused the bottle. Just take some pliers and twist the cap off, refill and then put the cap back on. I have used to work for a chemical company and have a 1 gallon bottle of concentrated wood floor cleaner that will last me a LONG time. So I use that. Once I have to start buying cleaner I will probably by the Murphys or Pledge wood floor cleaner that does not have to be rinsed.

I'm with you. I don't have the Hoover, but I have the Shark Steam Pocket Mop and it was worth every penny and then some. I have been using the Swiffer for about 7 years and it always left my floors with a sticky residue. My floors have never been cleaner. Plus it gets them sanitary and you never have to spend money on refills, just use water. Watch the infomercial and you will be sold. It is expensive but if you save up for it I promise you won't be disapointed. Besides my automatic cat litter, it is the BEST product I have ever bought.

I am glad to see others posting that there are other ways to cleaning your floors without using Swifter. I have used it before when I got it for free but refuse to pay good money for it. I use a pail of water with a glop of Lysol cleaner (obtained free or nearly so) and use a 100% cotton mop. It doesn't really take any longer than using the Swifter and the floor is so much cleaner, it even feels clean!! Just remember that when using those easy to do products that you are spending cold, hard cash and it can be done so much cheaper and easily!! Money spent can't ever be recooped. Think about it.

This is funny..I just saw this thread..I just got done using my swiffer wet jet and I love it...didnt like the clorox one at all..one I think I like is the pads you throw away when done. With mops you still have the germs in them like the sponges in dishes...I was going to buy the wetjet a couple weeks ago and get the free refill and more stuff for it with more q's. I went to a yard sale and got one for 2.00 I think it was or a 1.00 brandnew never been used. Saved me money on it but I have the q's for refills and wont go back to other mops. But that is my opinion...

I think the swiffer makes my floors sticky also. I have loved the ease of the swiffer but am now seriously looking into getting the Shark Steam Pocket Mop. I've been reading lots of reviews, but any opinions would be appreciated.

Ladies, you have sparked my interest on the shark steam mop. I have been using the swiffer wet jet, stopped using it for the above afore mentioned reasons. I now use it for spot cleaning. My new house has this old white ceramic tile, grout looks dirty...do you think the steamer would clean the grout? I mean we're talking about 1500 sq ft of ugly tile. Really miss my laminate floors. I love a good bucket of lysol with the cotton mop. Throw the mop head in the washer...no more germs

Lemme tell you all about ceramic tile (because we have a boatload of it in our house). After you get it deep, deep, deep down clean... make sure you seal it to keep it that way (at least for a couple of years, so you just have to deal with the surface stuff).
I did ALL of ours on my hands and knees (and yes, it took me a while). I used baking soda and hydrogen peroxide (which I found out from a guy who has a business cleaning ceramic tile is one of the best and safest things you can use). I did it in small sections, spraying it onto those areas and scrubbing the tile AND the grout, then wiping it up with a clean rag. Depending on how bad yours is (ours was pretty bad!) you may have to go over each section a couple of times. After you do a section, just wipe it down with clean, clear hot water and a clean sponge so it does't get gritty and such. When you're done, seal it IMMEDIATELY. I cannot emphasize that enough. Unless you get somebody in to do it professionally (at some RIDICULOUS price) that's the best way to get it clean. This guy also said do NOT use bleach on it... it's one of the worst things you can use on it.
AFTER you get it clean, the Shark steam mop will keep it looking good. We use the Shark steam mop on it, and it does a pretty good job. Just make sure you buy a spare set of pads, and toss 'em in the wash.
Just my 2¢...
