Default Bring Alerts Back & Add Bottom Dollar Foods to stores list

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to the site, but have been quite a strategic shopper prior to learning of the site. I am currently reading the Couponmom's book and it mentioned being able to get automatic alerts to deals on certain items (either specific brands or simply a kind of product). In my first week here, I haven't been able to find this option anywhere, but would LOVE to find it or have it come back.

Also, Bottom Dollar Foods has recently opened 2 new stores in my area and I would love to see them added to the stores list. They take coupons, often generate coupons for you for a future purchase, match prices, and carry many name brand items. They are a "bare bones" store like Aldi and Save a Lot where you bag your own groceries. If you haven't tried them yet, and there's one in your area, make sure you check it out with your other stores' ads in hand to price match. (actually, I think they'll even beat the price by a penny...)

the Deal Alert section has been under construction so-to-speak, supposedly it'll be fixed soon. Here's to hoping anyway...

There's 2 stores that opened last year which are 8 miles away of each other and now they just opened another one about 10 miles from my house. Haven't shop at this store but I get their ads all the time. Someone from another site mentioned that you have to watch the meat(expiration dates). I will check them out soon.

That may be a problem in one store, but overall, Bottom Dollar usually has good meat and meat prices. They are owned by and have the same meat as Foodlion. I don't shop there a lot because of the limited brands but I do go for the occasional sale.

    Default bottom dollar

I live in Maryland near one of the first Bottom Dollar's to open. Before you too excited, it's not a typical grocery store. They have very few brands, so couponing is not going to save you a bunch here. BUT, their produce prices are amazing. I shop at Giant because of double coupons and many brands on sale, but I buy all my produce and some basics (yogurt $.35 ea, Texas toast, cheese blocks to name a few) at Bottom Dollar. In my area, there are many Latino families that shop at Bottom Dollar and since Latino cooking uses a lot of produce, it turns over constantly and is always fresh. Cilantro is $.69, Avocados are $.88-.98 always, Gala apples are $1.49/lb. Compared with the usual prices of $1.29, $1.25+ and $1.69. Over a period of a year, this is a big difference.
