Default Discarding Older Inserts & Tracking Used Coupons

I've been couponing consistantly for 5 months and I'm keeping my coupon inserts intact in a plastic bin which is nearly full. I'm wondering how I will know when the remaining coupons in the older inserts are expired, so I can discard what's left of the insert. Rather than having to flip through each insert checking those tiny expiration dates, it would be great if Coupon Mom would let us know the latest coupon expiration date in each insert so we can throw them away at that time.

I've also been wondering if Coupon Mom or anyone else has a good system for tracking which coupons they have used. I often see a great deal listed on the Coupon Matchup and after spending time looking for the coupon, I realize I used it weeks/months ago. Any ideas?

I can't really answer your questions but I do have a request. Instead of throwing out your coupons that are expired if you're willing to mail them to me. I have a friend in the military who is stationed overseas and she can use coupons up to 6 months expired. pm me if interested.

An easy way to see if an insert has current Q's without flipping thru it is to go to the CM Q Database for your state/region. Click on the expiration date arrow - these arrows resort the list ascending or descending for the Heading the arrow corresponds to...does that make sense? Each of the Headings have up/down arrows. If you want to view the oldest still current inserts, sort according to the expiration date. If you are looking for a specific coupon, sort alphabetically. The CM database is a great interactive resource!

The other idea I have seen posted on the forum many times is each week when you get the insert, notice the latest expiration date in that insert then write it on the front of the insert.
