    Default Meat on Sale Thread

Maybe a thread just for meat and when it is on sale and where. Good deals, when to stock up, etc.

Our Albertson's (in Florida) has boneless chicken breast for $1.49/lb this week. Too bad I just stocked up at $1.69/lb. Anyway, I'm kinda mad at them cause they wouldn't let me use my $5 of $50 store coupon b/c my mq's brought my total to $41 something. Even though I had her scan the $5 one first. They said it had to be $50 AFTER all coupons, including mq's. I know I've done it there before, but this lady was a real stick and when I asked for a manager only had another cashier confirm what she was telling me. Sorry to vent. I think maybe Publix will honor deals from other stores.

I didn't have a problem with using the coupons.....I went to self check-out and scanned the $5.00 one first then the rest of them.

I do look for sales in the flyers, but I also check my stores on wednesday and thursday, they are usually marking down meat they cut earlier in the week to get ready for the weekend. I buy most of my meat that way, and repackage in meal portions and freeze. I don't track that, I buy as much as I can, so some weeks I have lots of pork, other weeks I have lots of chicken, etc. Don't forget to check the deli coolers also!

Well, like I said, I know I've done it before. I think there are two different Albertson's companies. Maybe they're not the same? I asked at walmart one time when they mark meat down and he said all throughout the day every day. Real helpful, huh?

    Crazy isn't it?

I have run across brisket for .60 a pound at walmart (there were enormous slabs though that required cutting into smaller roasts and rewrapping), 1.00 a pound ground beef at walmart and .50 pound chicken breast at walmart. ALL were unadvertised specials. We try to run by there a couple of times a week to see what is on sale because they are not advertising their meat sales.
