Default We Need Your Input!

We are redesigning the database for the Coupon Mom site, which includes the Grocery Deals by State lists and also the online Grocery Coupon Database (also known as the Virtual Coupon Organizer).

We are not adding new stores at this point, but we are working on making our current store lists more user-friendly. Do you have ideas for improvements that would make your shopping easier?

For example, we will be adding a column for store category so you can sort your list by section of the store. I know that would make my shopping easier!

Any other thoughts?

Thanks!
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie - wish I could contribute ideas but the only one I would ask, you have already posted. It would make things a lot easier for me since it is how I set up my shopping each week. Thank you so much for your continuous upgrades and making this site greater than it already is!

Hi Stephanie:

I'll start by saying your site is wonderful! I've been at it for about a month now and it's getting easier each week to save more and more. I started out saving about 30% on each trip and now I'm averaging about a 40-50% savings on my shopping.

And since I'm new, I'm still trying to get the hang of the system. Let me know if this already exists, but it would be great if there was a way we could search by product. For example, if I have a coupon for Yoplait yogurt, I could input that info. and see what stores have it on sale.

I have a bunch of BOGO coupons for products and I keep checking all of the lists for stores in my area for deals. It would be sooo much easier if I could just put in the product name and have the computer tell me which store has it on sale. Does this already exist somewhere?

Exclamation this may sound odd

OK here it goes id like to see things that are a really great deal say 70% or higher color coded maybe two or three colors like 50% up to 69% one color 70% and up another color. cause sometimes when I'm making a list I just look to see whats the best buy. I really hope you like this idea!!!! let me know thanks p

I do the same thing - I scan the list for stuff that's 50% or greater. If it's not on my grocery list, I won't buy it unless it's a really good deal. I think this is a great idea!

Default Fan of Color Coding

I am a fan of color coding things as well. I think it would be great to have a special color for really great deals 75% or more. Also, if there is a way to get the charity items to show up more distinctly as well that would be great!

Thanks!!

I totally agree with somehow color coding some of the best deals at each store. That would make things so much easier. I shop 5 different stores a week and really try to only by the best deals at each...

Or would there be a way to have an additional listing by state or region to sort the best prices-for example 70% savings or more in one list but seperated by store? or even the way the lists are now but to have a column that specifies that the price is one of the lowest around?

For example if Kleenex is on sale one week at Walmart ($1), CVS($.95) and Kroger($1, free when you use a .50 doubled coupon), would it be possible to have a column that would list Kroger as having the best deal? The stores often run similar sales so that would be nice.

Love the forum, by the way!

Well, I must say I have read the ideas posted so far and all are great. I love the idea of typing in an item and letting the system tell me which store has it the cheapest (or where I could get the best deal) but a lot of the stores listed aren't in my area. Perhaps it could be taken a bit further.
I wish I could select the stores in my area (that I actually shop at), let the system remember them... then when I type in the item (perhaps I have a Q. , or just need really badly) and the system could search my stores and tell me where I could get the best deal?
Sure would save me a lot of time...
Love the site and the forums... got my daughter checking it out now too.

TLC, I think you and I are thinking along the same lines. If there were a way we could choose, say 3 stores and have the system cross-reference the lists and search for a specific product, it would be much faster than scanning each store's list looking for an item.

I like the color coding as well. I would also request that the "deals" were explained more in depth. IE: The Albertson's list says $7 deal... or $5 deal. I really don't know much more than that so I skipped over them.
