I would not mind the ads so much if they were on the right side of the screen, instead of the left side of the screen. Ads pay for the site, but they are also distracting (in a negative manner!) away from the content.

get an ad blocker for your browser. i have one for firefox, & i never have to deal with ads. it's the best thing ever
the only thing different i noticed is that everything is pushed over to the right now
