    Question Organic

After watching food inc. a few weeks ago and doing research I have started to keep more organic food in my home and foods without high fructose corn syrup. I do find really good clearance deals on the milk when its getting ready to expire and just freeze it. and its soooooooo much tastier.. the eggs too.. I do gid it hard to locate deals or coupons for Organic items. does anyone have a site that they found??

ooooooo were watching that Movie this weekend, friends of ours are having an organic party lol!

We eat a lot of organic locally grown and transitioning fields foods. I found a co-op in my area that doesn't give me any choice in what I get, but I get 30-40# of organic produce every 2 weeks. Its 50$ and lately its been fabulous. Tho in November it was kinda lame. If your in TX or OK I can shoot you a pm with the link in it. If you host a pod or work you can get the food on the cheap, but working is not a requirement.

If your in an area with recycle bank you can sometimes order coupons from them. Look on your blue recycle bin to find out if your area participates. If you do it will have a big sticker. All they have atm is earth bound, happy baby organic baby food, sprouts, 7th generation, Honest T, green works and blue horizon.

I would love for more organic coupons. I know whole foods puts out a coupon book every so often but you have to go to the store to get it.

I get my eggs when they are laying from a local farm, now they are not cheep... but I feel better supporting this guy and they are duck eggs which are higher in protein and make fabulous cakes.

When I lived up north I went to the local farmers market which was huge and bought stuff straight from the farmers. I miss the 1$ a dozen free range eggs.. guy used smile while the talked about his chickens chasing bugs, and how he fed them scraps not chicken feed...

I really think it is important to know where our food comes from!

Check here. We have tried to separate some things out over time. It doesn't always work, but this is a good place to start.

I heard on a show this evening that Horizon and Promiseland organic milk is not organic and they just got a big fat fine. Apparently they are buying and selling not truly organic cows, not feeding organic feed, and giving the cows medicine. Just FYI.

    Default Organic and Natural

Found this website which has a good list of standard links to the 'organic' and natural living folks. (Competing site deleted.) It's a good place to start.

I am building a list of links to companies I buy products from, in order to sign up for their newsletters which include occasional coupons.

Am new to coupon'ing only because I don't buy many of the products that are commonly found, but there is an occasional bonus. It is just beginning to open up for folks looking for alternatives.

Mambosprouts.com? is a place everyone lists, but I rarely get coupons there.

Whole Foods is not a primary stop for me, for obvious $$$ reasons. They don't call it "Whole Pay Check" for nothing. They do have coupons available online, and when it's worth the 20 minute drive, I will head in there.

Wal-Mart is the last place I would look for organic food, but I was stunned to find organic greens for $2.88. The Herb Salad Mix is great. It doesn't taste like composted greens either. I have avoided buying greens in the plastic pkg. for obvious reasons, but sometimes one needs to make concessions.

Another trick is to keep an eye on the expiration date of wrapped, organic veggies and hold out until the night before they expire. You can sometimes grab them for pennies. One woman beat me to the salad greens. What was regularly $4 or 5.00 was marked down to 1.20.

It doesn't hurt to write to the companies of your choice and ask for coupons. I always get them in the mail. If they get enough requests, they might catch on and start a standard campaign and make them available on a regular basis.
