why did you think it would get out of hand? if you don't mind me asking.

ok, these are just plain annoying. First it was the febeeze dog, and just recently some pop up about 'win a trip to hollywood', or something. and that one wouldn't just disappear like the dog, I actually had to click on it, and then when I paged back, it popped up again !

Have to say, I love the forums & all the info & help it has been, but there has to be a better way to keep this whole site free - besides using pop ups.

Personally, I think couponmom should start selling couponmom tshirts if they require additional funds for the site. I have seen tshirts for sale on a competitors site ,not such a bad idea, AND its essentially free advertising for the site. Think about it, every time we shop, people would know where we learn our technique!
I would proudly wear a 'couponmom' tshirt on my big weekly shopping trips

I am glad it's not just me, that new pop up wouldnt go away even when I click where it said to close. So I just closed the site down and came back in a few minutes.

I use FF and I get the dog quite a bit and just got a new one today for some win a trip to hollywood thing (which btw is totally lost on me ). The popups don't annoy me, it's a necessary evil imo. If it keeps the site free, fine. I just click the little "x" in the corner, no biggie.

it's really not a necessary thing. you could download the adblock plus & you wouldn't have to bother with pop-ups anymore. you can even block little annoying banners on the side of the page. i adblock just about everything. the only downside is when i use somebody else's computer, i notice them, & i'm like WHOA!!! what happened!!!

I agree this site is free and paid by advertisements. But the pop up ads are definitely annoying. And also what is the target audience.. it is the people who are using this forum for saving money by using coupons. And if my reading is correct this audience will buy stuff only if it is a good deal.. ads or no ads.
These pop ups are coming through mine also and are a pain. If we have to have an add on this site I would rather see a streamer at the very top or bottom of the page where it will not block anything we are trying to see.

They are a bit annoying. I guess I'll look into adblock.

If you're using Internet Explorer, go to Tools and click on pop-up blocker. You can turn it off or on here. That should do it.

There is a new one.....for jeans now. I've now added the forum to the list of blocked pop ups.
