Default First time out-most products I wanted- GONE

Okay, so I went out on a small trip with my list and the Reach Floss, gone. The Razors-gone, The Fish Oil supplement-well, you get the idea. So do you need to hit it first thing Sunday morning or any morning. It was a disappointment. I did get the Hormel Natural meat for only a $1, it was 2.99 at Walmart and with the coupon only .99, awesome. I usually buy that anyway, so bonus. There were a few things that weren't sold out at all but others, just gone. Do I try another store, wait for them to restock, go earlier in the day, earlier in the week, what? Thanks. I do know about Rainchecks, and I will if it gets later in the week and I can't find what I want anywhere, I'd like to try another store or another day.

I think it depends on the store to be honest. I'm not sure from your post where you were shopping and this would help with the answers you will likely get here. So I'll try and give you some of my general guidelines that might help:

It pays to get friendly with your cashiers and managers and find out what day the truck comes in. If your CVS truck comes in on Thursday for example hit them late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

I used to go the rush out Sunday morning route but as time has gone by I've learned to wait for the trucks to come in later in the week for the most part.

Find out what day the sales start in your area, I know this varies from region to region and store to store. CVS for example starts their sale on a Saturday evening here...

Always get a rain check if you aren't sure you will be going back to the store that week or that they will restock before the end of the sale.

I'm at the opposite end of the country to you and I know there are others here that have more local knowledge of your area that will likely chime in with some really good advise. Let us know which stores you are specifically talking about and we can give you better advice...

I would definitely ask for a raincheck. If you do find the items elsewhere, no big deal at least you got them and you can toss the rain checks out. Better
safe than sorry I guess. I just wish I could get rain checks for my coupons that will expire before the stores up here restock an item I could have gotten
for free( $2.00 shaver deal) . All the walmarts and meijers I have been to have pulled them from the shelves.

If you know in advance what you will be getting you can also pre-order at many stores =D

I have had that happen to me many times now. I just try back a day or to later and if they still don't have what I am looking for in I get a rain check.

That happens to me a lot when Harris Teeter has their super doubles and tripples. They started on Wednesday, I went after work, a lot of stuff already gone. I called Friday and they said that the truck was coming in that night. I went back Saturday morning and got everything I was looking for!! yay! I also went back Monday and Teusday during my lunch break and picked up a few more freebies!
