Welcome, start by reading everything in the begginers start here section. Read Stephanies ebooks on the CM site. People post their trips in the savings and success section so you can copy their transactions. The CM site has the extreme drugstore deals section which lays out all the free/really cheap deals. This is how I prepare every week. I buy my papers every week but you can check at coffee shops such as starbucks in the recycle bin. Ask friends and neighbors to save them. Some newspapers have started selling them in bulk on Mon. or Tues. You can also get them on ebay or a clipping service but I think it is very expensive. HTH

CM= Coupon Mom. There is a link to the ebooks on the site and they are free. Start out small, don't expect to save that much or buy that much at first. Read all the old posts they will give you an idea of what to expect. Read Read Read. This is a great forum as it stresses ethical, realistic couponing. Forget what you see on TV that is not the real world. Aim for 40-50% you will find as you build your stock of coupons and have a small stockpile your savings will go up. It takes time to get there. I started in April and I am just now at the point of needing only staples. Look for posts by mmmz as she has helpful links on her posts. I am not computer savy so I don't know how to post them.

While you can get health and beauty items for free quite often, most things are not going to be free. The point is to buy things at their rock bottom price and to buy enough to get to the next sales cycle. This way, God forbid, you never have to buy at full price. It took several months for me to figure out what that price was for my area. If I can get cereal for 1.25 or under then I will buy 5-10 at that price. I would rather pay 12.50 at one time than 35.00 over 10 different trips.

Since you are in Orange County look for posts by CurtisBeers. He is in CA and is a great resource.

Try getting a subscription to the LA times...Coupons in that region seem to be better than in OC Register or Press Enterprise. Search online for a coupon code for Sunday only for LA Times. I was able to get a 52 week Sunday only subscription for under $10 a while back.

you ill just not get the $100 deal for $20 as easy as it sounds. The best I have done so far is $130.00 for $59.00. I agree with the other posts, read the stuff
they suggested and I checked stephanies book out from the library to read. it is extremely helpful! You can always get and trade coupons here on couponmom.
In fact if you will send me an address in a pm ( private message) I will send you a packet of variety coupons to help with your beginning stash. As you build
up your collection of coupons you caan go on the trading forum and ask for trades of certain ones you need. Usually you get something or most of
what you need. Hope this helps. (do not post your address in this forum though, only use the pm system)

These are the list of the coupons each of us are looking for. It just lets others know in case they have those items and won't use them. There is a really good trading system here under the trading thread. For instance if you don't use baby or pet coupons you can post what you have or what you want. If you go to settings and edit signiture you can list the coupons you want or an ISO (in search of) list. Trades are then worked out via private message. Coupons are then sent via snail mail. This is like a community so no one minds answering questions or helping others out. If you have a question you can do a search in the upper right of the screen and if you can't find the answer just ask.
