Starting a price list

Hello. does anyone have any suggestions on an easier way to begin a price list other the obvious of just going to the various stores and starting a journal of prices. I'm very excited to start using this process and look forward to your suggestions.

Well i woke up really early sunday and I went to walmart and publix where i shop at. I wrote everything down on a sheet of paper. Even stuff that i did not buy this go around but i know that i normally buy. Once i have free time this week i will wright it down in a book and go from there.
