Beginner Blues

Hey, I'm a beginner at this couponing stuff. I'm having a problem finding the coupons that are listed on couponmom. I go to the right week's smart source flier, but the coupon that is supposed to be there, isn't. Do the fliers vary in different parts of the country? For instance: There's supposed to be a $.35 coupon for Dial soap in the 10-04 S, which means Oct. 4th Smart Source, right? But it's not there. Somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong please! Thanks!

Don't get discouraged, your not doing anything wrong

Coupons in the sunday inserts are somewhat regional. I know around here, I may look for a coupon that is 'supposed' to be in insert according to coupon database, not there. Guess what, I usually get coupon (usually smaller $ amount for some reason) in the next week, sometimes the week after paper.

Example: A while back, there were $2 starbucks ice cream coupons in inserts. Thought they would never show in our inserts here. About 3 weeks later, they appeared, but instead of $2, it was only $1

Use the coupon database, and store lists, as a guide, not as a rule. Even the store lists will not always match, and prices can also vary region to region.

try and find a paper from a larger metropolitan area. i know the paper for my local county (po-dunk town :-) ) does not have all of the coupons that is in the same week's big city paper insert so try and find the biggest paper available to you. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advise! I get the Wisconsin State Journal (out of Madison) on Sundays. Maybe I'll see if the Milwaukee paper is available in our town. Thanks again! Everybody's so nice on here.

Hi Jeanie and welcome! I feel your pain that you do not think you are getting the deals that others do. I live on the south side of Indianapolis and I do not get the same coupons as those on the north side! Just clip what you have, print what you can and don't give up! Even if you just save a little right now you are still ahead ! Stay tuned this this site and learn from all the experienced couponers. You will soon feel better about it all.

Sometimes, it is a little disappointing to read about all the great deals that people are getting using a coupon that I didn't get!!!!!

I agree with the others and dont forget you can ask us for a coupon you want and or didn't get and someone here may have extras to give or trade.

don't get discouraged. my grocery store sales are about $.30 more than what it says in the data base, but i'm still saving alot. I'd rather pay $.30 for an item that some get for free then pay full price! just hang in there!
