Default Confused...or is it me?

Hello to all-
I am new to this site and am needing to save money! I have 3 teens in our household and money is tight. When I go to the grocery deals by state and go through the ad, I mark the ones I want. Then when I go to that ad that I am looking for, I cannot find the coupon, even though it says it should be in that particular group of ads! What is with that???? Is it me or am I not reading something right? Lost.....

Keep in mind that coupons can vary by region and by amount for that matter. The idea is to buy the largest circulating paper for your state....so that you can get the best selection of coupons available for your area. HTH.

Default confused?

Hi!

I don't have all the answers but I do know that couponmom lists are just a guideline. Each newspaper inserts are not necessarily the same. You have to check things against the inserts you receive. Hope this makes sense.

Oh TiredMom, I so remember the days that I was also a "tired Mom". First I want to say that those teenagers will be gone before you know it!! I thought those years would last forever but, alas, this too shall pass!! I think it best for you right now to rely on your local grocery ads and combine those with your coupons at hand. I then use CouponMom to see if there is something out there that I missed. Good luck to you!!!

Yup, it's a regional thing. My mom in So.Cal. gets way better Qs than I do here in Az (higher value or $ off 1 item instead of 2.) She also always get ALL the inserts, and all the Qs mentioned in the posts. I only refer to the posts so I know what to ask my mom to send me. LOL

Don't forget there are lots of other places to get Qs. All You magazine (Wal-Mart or subscription only), on-line, ask friends/family/neighbors/co-workers to trade, trade here on CM, use a clipping service, watch for "peelies," "blinkies," tearpads at stores, check the service desk for pads of Qs or discount offers. You'll find lots once you get started.

Allison

p.s. Welcome!

Buy the largest-circulation newspaper in your area. They usually have more and better coupons.

additionally, the same paper in different areas of town might be different. i bought 3 indy stars this past sunday. one at speedway in noblesville (it had 2 rp, 2 ss, 1 gm). later on sunday i walked over to the convenience store near my home (6 miles from the speedway, still noblesville city limits) and grabbed 2 more papers. same indy star, same ss insert but only one, different rp insert and only 1, same gm insert. makes me wonder if i should check the early edition papers distributed in indy proper next time i work on a saturday...
