Default Washington Albertsons 2/18 - 2/22 General Mills Sale

Next week there will be a Mix and Match for General Mills. Buy 10 get $10.00. I am wondering, Can I roll over this sale? Kind of like what the CVS shoppers get to do?

This is what I would like to do:

    Progresso Soup
    10 x $1.50 – (2)$2/4 Q IP – (1)$1/2Q IP = OOP $10.00 Get $10.00

    Next:
    Pillsbury Grand’s
    8 x $1.25 – (3) .30/2 - (1).50/2Q=$8.60
    Betty Crocker Cake Mix
    2 x $1.25 = $2.50
    -$10.00
-1.10 gift card (only had $2.00 on it)
    Total OOP: $.00
    Get $10.00

    Next:
    Betty Crocker Cookie Mix 3 x $1.66– (3) .40 Q = $3.81
    Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie 4 x $2.00 – (2)1. Q = $6.00
    Betty Crocker Frosting 3 x $1.67-(3).50Q=$3.51
    -$10.00
    Total OOP $3.30
    Get $10.00

    Next:
    Nature Valley
    5 x 2.50 = $12.50 – (5) .50 Q = $10.00
    Trix/Lucky Charms/Crunch
    3 x 2.50 = 7.50 – 1 (Q) IP - .55 (q) IP = $5.95
    Cheerios Snack Mix
    2 x 2. = 4.00 – (2) .50 Q = $3.00
    -$10
    Total OOP $8.75
    Get $10.00
    Get $3.50

    Next
    Welch’s Grape Juice
    5 x 1.00 = $5.00
    Butter
    3 for $5.00
    5 Ketchup $1 x 5 = $5 (Rain Check)
    -10.00
    -3.50
    OOP .18

    All together OOP $22.24

Please let me know if this looks ok or if I can do better.

    Thanks
    Kelley

I didn't look to closely - but rolling these deals is a harder than CVS, but easier than WAGs.

First thing - do not go through a cashier - go through a self-checkout.

Cashiers are trained to not let you roll deals. They don't want you doing separate transactions - it throws them into a tizzy.

Second - make sure that your pre-tax total is at least more than the totals of the coupons you'll be using. What a cashier will catch the self check will let you do and then the self-check "watcher" gets in a huff cause she has to fix it.

An example - my total came to $10.19 (different promotion) and I had a $10 cat. Threw it in and then put in a $1.00 bill to pay the $0.19. Only problem was my pre-tax total was $9.95 with $0.24 tax. Can't use a cat to pay for the tax (at least here in Illinois you can't).

I'm trying to think what else has tripped me up - as always be prepared to substitute if they are out of one item or another, make sure you have twice as much time as you think you need and be prepared to stand your ground when things don't go right. I'd say 80% of the time I have no problems, but the other 20%, yikes.

Last night I said in my loudest voice when they moved me to a cashier lane (as they were complaining I broke the self-check scanner because I didn't scan my Jewel preferred card before I started the transaction and that I wasn't allowed to do multiple transactions and if I scanned my card first it wouldn't print the cat at the end of the transaction) "I'm not doing anything illegal. What's your name again?". She shut right up, rang in my four transactions and didn't say a single word to me until the end

She: "You're using a credit card to pay for $0.26?".

Me: "Yes, because you take too long".

OK - more than enough ranting. Totally not what you wanted to hear.

Those are great. Thanks for the heads up. I love Albertsons - I've never tried to roll their deals yet.

    Default Thank you Canadial

Thank you Canadial for all the information. I’ve never tried to roll over any deals or sales at Albertsons (only wags and no CVS for me). I am glad to hear I can but with caution. Here in Washington we don’t have sales tax on “most” food, so I think I am ok there. I do have two Albertsons that I pass on my way to work so maybe I should break the transactions up, doing three at each one until I get feel for those cashiers.

I must admit, I hadn't thought of doing this at Albertsons. I will be anxiously waiting to see how it goes for you. Good luck and keep us posted!

Last time they had the buy $30/get 15 deal for GM and Pillsbury products, we rolled them over and over again! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I probably won't be able to try it till tomorrow. Not feeling well today, no shopping for me.

I rolled the Pamper deal (PG $30/$15RR) for 36 packs of diapers last time. I went there on a Saturday night and the cashier let me use a shelf-ck and I rang, over and over. She was proud of me. I wish other cashiers were as excited about bargains.

At the Albertsons by my house, they stopped letting you do your own coupons at self-check. This was when they had the coupon doubling. Ever since they have the attendant enter them. At the other Albertsons down the street, they blocked the coupons at self-check during the doubling event, but on non-doubling weeks they let you do your own.
