We have so many couponers here in Florida that respond to the forums, I'd love to see a thread for Albertsons for us Florida fans. Even though I buy the bulk of my groceries at Publix (we love the BOGOs), I work near Albertsons and do walk over to pick up some of their specials.

My Albertson's has some of the best meat deals (i.e. got boneless skinless chicken breasts for as cheap as $1.48/lb.) and last week they had Buy 3 cans of Pillbury Grands! canned biscuits and get 1/2 gal milk and 1/2 dozen eggs FREE. With Q's, I paid practically nothing for biscuits, milk and eggs.
They also regularly have $5 of $50 q's in their ads (the one in the newspaper, not on their stands), and these can also be used at Publix since they take these type of competitor qs. Would be nice to be able to see deals other are getting and know if I really need to make a run to Albertson's or not. :-) |

ditto on the free eggs and milk..I was even allowed to use 3 q's on the Pilsbury (we sure got enuff) which lowered my total even more....watch out for mark ups on the BOGO meat though...you really need to know your prices with ABSNS
as they tend to mark up to make up...........and not just on the meat...that cheese deal was ridiculous...the big chunk ( and then get 2 free) was 8 something... no deal in my book.......... ![]()

Yeah, I usually steer clear of the BOGO meats - because the per pound price is thru the roof.
I stick with the price per lb sales. Last week I got their ground beef for $1.88/lb. Most of the time it is around 2.49 - 2.99 depending on the store. |

I'm in the Gainesville area, so not sure if everyone in FL will get this or not, but there is a $5 off $50 coupon in this weeks Albertson's flyer (from the paper on Wednesday). It's good for the weekend 12/5-7/08.

Albertson's had another $5 off $50 in the flyer from the Wednesday paper. These can be used at our Publix's too.
One noteable that I remember is boneless, skinless chicken breasts are $1.69/lb. Will have to check my stock and see if I need more right now. :-) |

I shop at Albertson's occassionally when they have really good sale items. I asked DH to run in there for a $3.99 18-pk of Pepsi sometime this week
But I prefer Publix hands-down. Many of our local Albertson's have closed and turned into Publix. I heard a rumor that Albertson's will no longer be in business in Florida within a year -- this info coming from an Albertson's employee a few weeks ago.

The Maxwell house (large) for 4.99 last week was killer..WAGS had the exact same thing at 13.99....(buy one get the other at a penny)..sometimes you can score at ABSNS.....

We did have two Albertson's here, but one closed down (bought out by Publix). The other is actually Albertson's LLC, and they were not affected by the Publix buy out. I really hope they don't close - otherwise, in our area, Publix will definitely have a monopoly on the grocery market. I love Publix, but if there is no competition, there will be no incentive to have deals.
I went to Albertson's this weekend, got large pack of Chicken Legs for 88 cents/lb, assorted pork chops for $1.29/lb, and ground beef for $1.88/lb. Not too bad. :-) |
