Warehouse of Hope
If anyone is interested that lives in West Georgia, there is a place called Warehouse of Hope. They are between Douglasville and Hiram off Ga 92 at Hunter Road. They will take anything. The man that started this with his family, opened his house at first for this mission. they finally got enough donations to build the warehouse.
They will take anything. His daughter told me as long as it was like new, they would even take gently used underwear. I thought she was kidding. she was very serious. She said some of the people that come in there are so poor that if they run out of food before next Thursday that they are out. They try to check on the worst cases when they are able to.
Let me tell you, I go by the warehouse almost every day and it breaks my heart. They give out food on Thursdays and there are so many people lined up needing the very things I know i take for granted sometimes.
My son worked on a project for scouts filling donated bookbags at the warehouse and it just happened to be on a Thursday. By the time I got to my car I was boohooing.
I am in the process of fall cleaning and filling bags to take down there this week. Its amazing what you can find to donate when you put forth the effort.
