It is easy... and yes the long cooking time is to ensure the meat is cooked thoroughly, but the cabbage also only starts out wilted... believe it or not, it takes a while to make sure the cabbage is soft. When rolling the meat mixture in the cabbage you don't want it too soft or you'll rip it... It definitely is one of those recipes for a cooler afternoon when you want the oven on.

After posting the recipe, I called our friends and asked them what they were doing for dinner today. I'm making cabbage rolls... Yum... and thanks!
