Something similar happened to us recently when ordering flowers via web site. I was using a promo code through a popular floral distributor and needed a funeral arrangement sent to NJ. I got the promo code to work and got a nice deal on the flowers but when my DH was checking his statement on line he noticed not one but two very strange charges to his account. After several phone calls he found out that in the fine print of the agreement there was the info regarding these two companies. They immediately credited his account and told me to be more careful next time. I mean, come on, who ever reads all that fine print agreement garbage anyway? He wasn't mad at me, but at the company and the scary part is we would have been charged the almost $20 fee two times a month if we didn't catch it and cancel it. WTH??? So, it does happen but you should have been credited any charges you were unaware of and your 'membership' canceled as requested.
