This worked for us. We have only had ants when it hadn't rained in a really really long time. We had them in the kitchen by the sink and the bathroom, again by the sink. We think they were coming for the water since there was none outside. So we set out "containers" of water outside and put bread or a little food scrap. Haven't seen them inside for 2 years. We just feed and water them and they stay out of the house. Sounds silly...I know.
