My husband and I have what we call 'adopted' a single mom and her children and an older woman and her disabled son and we give them groceries weekly. We also support a center for troubled teens by giving them paper towels and toilet tissue. We can't take care of their complete grocery needs but I figure whatever we give them frees them to buy other things they need. Of course, I don't get a receipt for my donations but I do get a smile reward. Works for me.
